A. Questa. Troths Announced Jean Adams' Teen Forum LUCKY NUMBER? (Q.) I love this girl very much. She says she likes me, but she won't go with me. I have asked her to go with me 18 times but will ask her 12 more because 30 is my lucky number.

Do you think she will say yes? -Confused Boy in New Jersey. (A.) No. Take her hint and forget her. So far as you're concerned, there's no magic number with her. But some other girl might say yes on Try No.

1. Hunt for her. FOSTER FOULUP: (Q.) I lived in a foster home for 14 months and became very attached to my foster mother and her sons and daughters. But one day, when she was in the hospital, her husband came home drunk. That night he came to my room.

I fought him off for a while, but finally had to give in. When he came back again and again, I cooperated with him. This went on for four months. He would come to my room while my foster mother was away at work. When she found out what we were doing, she ordered me to leave.

That was three months ago and I'm still heartsick. I liked my foster family so much and am homesick for them Please tell me what to do. Should I try to get back at least on speaknig terms with my foster mother, or should I erase her and all the others from my life for good? I truly long for forgiveness. -Sorry in Pa. (A.) Write your former foster mother a sincere letter of apology.

Ask her to forgive you, but tell her not to write you back. I believe she will forgive you maybe not right away, but someday. Do not suggest or expect to pick up where you left off, either as a member of the family or as a friend. After that one letter do not try even to keep in touch with them. There would always be a strained feeling.

'Her husband did wrong, but so did you. When we do wrong we often lose the friends we love and need the most. I am confident that in time you will find new friends and maybe a family, and that when you do you will not do wrong toward any of them, or toward yourself either.
