FLORIDA TODAY SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2017 23A Dianne Huckaby, 72, formerly of Boston, MA and Glen, NH, passed away peacefully on Tues- day, September 5, 2017 at her home in Suntree. Born Dianne Clasen in San Diego, CA, she graduated from Crawford High School in 1962. She moved to Houston, TX with her husband, John and two young sons, Marc Steve, where she began a long and suc- cessful career in sales, with IBM and later with Control Data Corp. In 1979, Dianne was pro- moted to Regional Sales Manager for the North- east with Control Data, becoming one of the female senior sales managers in the country in the high tech industry. Always looking to improve herself and advance her career, she obtained her MBA from Simmons College in Bos- ton in 1993.

Afterwards, she switched careers, be- coming a Vice President at two different research facilities in Boston. She met the love of her life, Joe, while working at the Schepens Eye Research Institute. They spent 21 wonderful years together, the last 9 years in mar- riage. Dianne relocated to Florida in 2009 with Joe and continued to work as a consultant in the medical research She retired in 2012 and became an avid golfer. She was a member at Suntree Country Club and made numerous new friends playing in vari- ous leagues at area courses in Viera and Melbourne, FL.

She and Joe enjoyed many golf vacations with friends to Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head and a number of locations throughout Florida. She played golf with the same passion that made her a success in her business career. Dianne leaves behind her husband, Joe and her sons, Marc, his wife Pam of Viera, FL and Steve, his wife, Ann of San Jose, CA and a stepson, Brian of Boston, MA; grandchil- dren Sam, Will, Ben, Han- nah, Julia, Bryan and JT and one great grandchild, Elliot. She also leaves 2 brothers, Dick of St. George, UT and Johnny of San Diego, CA.

She will be greatly missed by her many friends, buddies, former col- leagues and her beloved cat, Miss Lily. Services for Dianne will be held at Suntree United Methodist Church in Mel- bourne, FL on Monday September 25, 2017. Ila was born in Loris, South Carolina on January 28, 1939. Ila dedicated her life to helping others. She grad- uated from Baptist Hos- pital Nursing School in 1959.

After her career as a Cardiac Intensive Care Nurse, she continued taking care of friends, strangers, and neighbors. Ila was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Arthur P. Mitchell, Jr.

Ila is survived by her daughters, Cristina Renay McDaniel and her husband, Thomas, and Donna Mitchell; grandchildren, Brantley, Brianna, Kendall, Make- na, Parker, and Jarrett Wilson; and four great- granddaughters. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at at the Chapel at First Baptist Church of Merritt Island, 140 Magnolia Avenue, Merritt Island, FL 32952. Ila Cox Mitchell Merritt Island Shirley Meredith Reus, Devoted Wife, Home- maker, Mother passed from this life on the 28th of August, 2017. Despite a challenging upbringing childhood in Depres- sion-era America, Shirley, persevered into adult- hood. Moving from her birthplace of Toledo Ohio to a farm in the Fairfax, Virginia area, and later still to St. Petersburg, on Western she lived with her extended family.

On nearby St Pete Beach, she met later married a somewhat older, but non-the-less dashing Air Force then sta- tioned at MacDill Field, Tampa, Florida. Shirley enjoyed an engaging, active, full, and overall healthy life well into her later years. Traveling to diverse duty-stations in- conjunction with, and in- support of Her hus- 24-year Air Force career, She was always ready for the next ad- venture. After raising Her Family, she enjoyed an avid interest in travel with her Husband of 68 years; ultimately seeing most of central Europe, along with regular visits to the sunny warm Hawaiian Islands of Oahu, Maui. Among Her European favorites were the his- toric cities of Berlin, and Paris, where her keen interest in fashion was sparked.

She was proud of her Family, especially Her children, and their children. She was is loved, and missed. Shirley is survived by: Her Husband, Major Joseph H. (Ryan) of Rockledge Florida, Great- grandson, Gavin Ryan, Great-granddaughter, Amelia Ryan Funeral Arrangements provided by Newcomer Funeral Home of Titus- ville, Florida Shirley Meredith Reus Howard Peckham, 90, a retired colonel in the U.S. Air Force, passed away on September 18, 2017, in Indian Harbor Beach, Florida. He was born September 5, 1927, at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., to Major General Howard Peckham, and Marion S. Shaw.

In 1954 he mar- ried Jane E. Goodman and together they raised two sons, Lawrence and Terrence, until her death in 1972. In 1974 Howard married Mollie Austin Billingslea, who had two children, Arthur and Karen. Mollie died in 2004. After graduating with the Class of 1951 from West Point, Howard joined the U.S.

Air Force. Assigned to the 15th Tactical Re- connaissance Squadron, he piloted RF 86 recon- naissance missions over China and Manchuria, for which he received both the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal for Meritorious Achieve- ment and Distinguished Heroism. Howard re- ceived a degree in aeronautical engineer- ing from the Air Force Institutes of Technology at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio, and at- tended the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Va. His last posting was to the Air Force Eastern Test Range at Patrick AFB, as direc- tor of Range Engineering, then director of Range Operations, and as vice commander, for which he received the award of the Legion of Merit upon his retirement in 1977. Following retirement, Howard and Mollie owned All World Travel in Indialantic and Palm Bay, and for many years specialized in lead- ing group trips all over the world.

Howard also helped found Indian River Colony Club in Viera, a resort community that opened in 1986 for retired military. In addition to his two sons, Howard is survived by his sister, Jean Peck- ham Kavale; Kathleen Peckham, wife, and their sons How- ard and Leigh; Wendy Billingslea, wife and their daughters Lauren, Kristin and Katie; and William Love, husband and their children Robert, Shelley and Laura. com. Howard L. Peckham, Jr. Cocoa Beach Brenda Galiszewski of Merritt Island, FL, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 15th at the young age of 58. Brenda was born in Hagerstown, MD to David and Doris Sanders.

She is survived by her lov- ing husband Mike, her Daughters Jessica, of Melbourne, Jennifer (Pete) of Winter Garden, Mother Doris, of Mel- bourne, siblings, Dave (Mary) of Melbourne, Greg (Carrie) of Satellite Beach, Darlene (Dave) of Titusville, Step Children Cristy (Tyler) of Merritt Island, Steven (Brooke) of Tampa, and Grandchil- dren, Brayden, Jaxton, Brodie, Chase, Mia, Ava and many nieces and nephews. She was a lov- ing wife, devoted mother and grandmother to grandchildren that meant the world to her. Brenda earned her Degree from Warner Southern College. She was a well-regarded employee for Rockwell, USA and most recently AECOM. She loved the arts, painting, crafting, animals and she was a devout Christian and spent most of her time with her best friend, her husband.

Galiszewski Merritt Island Gordon Wagers Melbourne, FL- Gordon Wagers, age 68, passed away on Saturday July 29th, 2017, at St Round Rock Medical Center in Texas. He was under the care of Hos- pice after a diagnosis of Glioblastoma Multiforme.

At the time of his death he was surrounded by his daughters, his three sisters and one of his nieces. Gordon was born May 5, 1949, in Tacoma, Washington. He grew up primarily in Richmond, In- diana and graduated from Richmond High School in 1967. After graduation he immediately joined the United States Marine Corps. While stationed in California at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro he earned his degree at Pepperdine University.

After serving 10 years in the USMC he joined the United States Army where he earned his helicopter pilot license while stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama. And thus began his life-long love and passion for ing helicopters. After 20 years of mili- tary service he retired in 1988. He continued his career as a helicopter pilot working for DynCorp International and for U.S Department of State Air Wing. He served during the Persian Gulf War in Kuwait.

As a contract employee for the U.S. Department of State he worked in Colombia, South America and also Afghanistan for the drug eradication program. He was still working as a he- licopter pilot for the U.S. State Department at the time of his death. Gordon was smart, funny, and ev- eryone gravitated towards him.

Because of his mili- tary background and his work as a helicopter pilot, he was well traveled and always had lots of stories and interesting things to share. He loved cars all of his life and loved driving them. He was making plans to drive Route 66 from Chicago to LA with his brother-in-law just two weeks before he died. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Verna Wagers and his brother-in-law, Jim LaMar. Besides his wife, he is survived and will be forever missed by the two loves of his life, his daughters, Naomi Hurley and husband, Ted of Temecula, CA.

and Sarah Wagers and her Rob Reeger of Austin, TX; his three cherished grandchildren, Keelan, Braden, and Bryson Hurley of Temecula, CA. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn LaMar of Cary, sister, Carol Creech and husband Wickey of Plano, Texas, sister, Joan Opiela and husband John of McKin- ney Texas, brother, Jimmy Wagers, currently work- ing in Bagdad, Iraq and brother, Jerry Wagers, currently in Camas, WA. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and neph- ews and many friends. Michael E. Haas, USAF (Ret), Williamsburg, VA. There will be no public service. A time of cel- ebration of life is pending. Gordon Wagers Melbourne Frank Arden Perkins, 87, died Friday, Septem- ber 15, 2017 at Holmes Regional Medical Center.

He is survived by his sons Paul of Hiawassee, Ga and David (Val) of Me- ridianville, AL; his friend and companion of many years Sandra Cope. Frank was born in Atlan- ta, GA to Frank and Pau- line Gaither Perkins, Sr. on December 17, 1929. He graduated from Geor- gia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, he was called to active duty in the US Army and served as instructor on the guidance and telemetry systems for the Corporal, the surface to surface guided missile.

During his Army career he resided in Pasadena, CA and Huntsville, AL. When he was released from active duty, he took advantage of his experi- ence in the Army to work as an electrical engineer the rest of his career. Frank moved to Mel- bourne in 1955 working for RCA at Patrick Air Force Base as an engineer on radar tracking systems. Next he worked at Missileon- ics, a small electron- ics In 1959 he went to work for Radia- tion Inc. and then worked for their successor Harris Corporation until his retirement in 1988.

He had enjoyed most of his business travel, hav- ing traveled more exten- sively during retirement. He served as a volunteer on some 20 expeditions with Earthwatch and sim- ilar organizations, visiting such exotic locations as Kenya, Papua New Guinea and the Falkland Islands. He was an avid traveling extensively with his rods, in places as diverse as Mongolia, the Seychelles Islands and the Kamchatka Peninsula of eastern Russia. He wet a line in about 23 coun- tries around the world. In all, he visited about 75 countries.

He photo- graphed many sights on his travels, a number of his photos were pub- lished, including one on the cover of Earthwatch Annual Report. He also published three books covering his travels. Frank will be missed by his family and friends, work associates and vari- ous social groups. He will be placed at Cape Canaveral Na- tional Cemetery, 5525 US Highway 1, Mims, FL with US Army honors at a later date. Carl Eugene Rees Jr. Palm Bay Hugh David Williams, 83, of Merritt Island, passed away on Sep- tember 20, 2017 at Assisted Living Facility in West Melbourne. He was born in York, Pennsylvania on Novem- ber 29, 1933, the son of Philip and Harriet Wil- liams. He is survived by his wife, Linda Williams, his three sons, Russell, Hunter and Mathew, his step-daughters, Car- rie Teslof and Robin Diesel and his grand- son, Landon Diesel. Hugh loved his work! He spent his lifetime devoted to management beginning his career in the in his native Penn- sylvania.

During the and until his retirement in 1997, Hugh served as either consultant or City Manager in various cit- in Florida.
