he FLORIDA TODAY, Friday, JAMES WHITELEY PALM BAY James Kennedy Whiteley, 77, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. Mr. Whiteley was born in Daytona Beach, Fla. He served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years, seeing duty during World War II.

Mr. Whiteley is survived by his wife of 22 years, Nellie Whiteley; daughters, Betty Alba, Lucille Blessing, and Vivian Povoski; sons, John, Charlie, David and James Jr. Whiteley; stepdaughters, Florence Freer and Mary Flanagan; step-son, John, Freed; sisters, Gwen Martin, Margie Finnegan, Dorothy Willoughby, Patty Petro, Cathy Hoffman and Penny Bland; sister-in-law, Sheila (Sonny) McAdoo; 14 grandchildren; many greatgrandchildren; and her pets, MooMoo and Daisy. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 31st, at Palm Bay Funeral Home, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay.

Tolbert, 85, of Mountain Home, N.C., went to sleep in Christ on Tuesday, January 27, 2004. She was a native of Philadelphia, and was a long time resident of Cocoa Beach, before moving to Henderson County, N.C., in 2002. She was a research analyst for McNell Laboratories in Philadelphia. During World War HI, she worked for the USO and it was there that she met her husband.

After moving to Cocoa Beach, in 1958, she taught German in the local schools. Mrs. Tolbert was an avid reader, a coa Seventh Day pastel member artist of the and Co- a Adventist Church until moving to North Carolina where she joined the Fletcher SDA Church where her son is the senior pastor. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Warren Tolbert and a son, Jeffry Tolbert. Mrs.

Tolbert is survived by a son, Pastor Gary Tolbert and his wife, Malia of Mountain Home, N.C.; two grandsons, Matthew Tolbert and his wife, Joey of Chattanooga, and David Tolbert of Portland, a niece, Dorothy Petner of Philadelphia three sisters-in-law, Pauline, Lois and Mary Tolbert; and a special friend, Connie Ezell of Cocoa Beach. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2004 at the Cocoa Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1500 Cox Road, Cocoa. Mrs. Hacker was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Arthur Edwin Hacker. CONNIE GRESHAM MERRITT ISLAND Connie Bolt Gresham, age 91, born in Rome, Georgia on May 7, 1912, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 28, 2004. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Merritt Island from 1955 through 1994 and then regularly attended services held at her Baxley Manor residence and Calvary Chapel.

Wife to Howard Gresham for 52 years, mother to two children, Jimmy Gresham and Louise Gresham Mills; grandmother to Larry, David and Jeff (Gina) Gresham, Michael (Kathy), and Danny Mills, Jody (Anita) Gresham, and Grant (Trudi) Gresham, Jim (Angie) Simone, and Karen (Brian) Salwowski; great-grandmother to Christopher, Justin, Josh, Jessica, Jacey, and Zach Gresham, Trevor, Brianna and Daniel Mills, Nicole Salwowski and Gabrielle Simone; and a special friend to Louise's companion, Jim Simone; a friend to everyone she would meet, a follower of her God, she prayed without ceasing. Not one to rest in her golden years, she served as President and Chairman of the Board of the Tenants Association at Baxley Manor for the past 13 years, where her love of people and life were a benefit to all who knew and worked with her. We celebrate her life because we loved her. She gave and gave without asking anything in return. She has left us many examples of how to live a good life.

Her strong faith in God, her compassion for her fellow man and her love for all her friends and family are but a Our lives have been blessed for having known and loved her. RICHARD LOTT MELBOURNE Richard D. Lott, 64, a mechanical engineer for Harris Government Systems, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2004. Mr. Lott was born in Neptune, N.J. He came to Brevard County in 1962.

He was a member of Calvary Chapel of Merritt Island. Mr. Lott was a man of integrity who enjoyed helping others. He is survived by his wife, Janice; sons, Edward and Joshua; daughters, Rebecca, Jennifer and Heather; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Carol. A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, at Calvary Chapel of Melbourne.

A native of New York, he had worked as a Registered Nurse for Cape Canaveral Hospital and Wuesthoff Hospital. Dolores Marie Connell, 84, the former Dolores Smith, died Monday, January 26, 2004 at 4:25 PM in the Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette, La. A native of Cleveland, Ohio and a resident of Cocoa, Florida for 25 years, Mrs. Connell was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved music and loved making people smile.

Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Cain and her husband, Larry, of Lafayette, Sandra Masterson and her husband, Jim, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Suzanne Mack and her husband, David, of North Andover, and Nancy London, of Augusta, twelve grandchildren; fifteen greatgrandchildren; one sister, Shirley Vitellaro, of Encinitas, one brother, Gilbert Smith, of San Diego, one brother-in-law, Tom Connell, of Vero Beach, and one niece, Marcy Wyrick and her husband, Dennis, of Vero Beach, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford J. Connell; and her parents, Al and Jeanne Mullaly Smith. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 11:00 AM in Our Savior Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach, Fla. Interment will be in the Brevard Memorial Park in Cocoa, Fla.

RICHARD WISE, Jr. COCOA Richard Larry Wise, 31, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. Larry was born in Melbourne, and was a lifelong Florida resident. He was the manager of Apache Trailer Park.

Larry is survived by his son, Damian; daughter, Katie; sisters, Tina Lohne and Angela VanWinkle; mother and stepfather, Pam and Scott Siegfort; maternal grandparents, Howard and Geri Byrd; and many other loving family members. JULIET, TENN. Patricia Abston (Pat) Breynaert, 72, of Mt. Juliet and formerly of Springfield and Melbourne, died at her home on Tuesday, January 27, 2004. She was a homemaker. She was born in Springfield on March 6, 1931 to the late Louie Marshall and Maggie Ester Ledbetter Ferguson.

Several brothers and sisters, along with a son, Terry Doyle Abston, also precede her in death. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald G. and Phyllis Abston of Blacksburg, S.C., Tommy G. and Lisa Abston of Lakeland, Tony L. Neese of Melbourne, and Paul S.

Neese of Melbourne; daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Garrett of Hendersonville, Judy and John Grooms of Mt. Juliet, Tammy J. Ulrey of Melbourne; sister, Lois J. Ferguson of Nashville. She leaves 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Services ere conducted on Friday, January 30, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Austin Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, with Bro. Tim Williams officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Gardens. Austin Bell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

DOROTHY ONDERA COCOA Dorothy T. Ondera, a retiree, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2004, at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, Fla. Dorothy came to Brevard County in 1955 from Chicago, where she was born. She worked as a purchasing agent in Brevard County for 10 years. Dorothy was a member of St.

Mary's Catholic Church in Rockledge, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and was the former owner of Kiddie Kampus in Rockledge. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Hodgkin granddaughter, Andrea Kent of Cocoa; grandson, Marcus Kent of Cocoa; daughter, Melissa Hutchinson; granddaughter, Jessica Hutchinson of Cocoa; son, Joseph Ondera; granddaughter, Ashley; granddaughter Aimee; grandson, Joseph of Cocoa; brothers, James McAllister and David McAllister; sisters, Monica Maurisak, Colette Golon and Kathy Faulkner; and a special daughter, Sandy Kimple. Mrs. Ragan came to Brevard County in 1967 from Chicago, where she was born. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a volunteer at Holmes Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her daughter, Mary (James) Kerrigan; sons, George (Jessica) Ragan and James (Jannine) Ragan; brothers, Robert (Dodie) Sidor and Donald (Gerri) Sidor; brother-in-law, Edward Ragan; sisterin-law, Georgianne (Brian) Poklacki; grandchildren, Laura, Kenny, Theresa, Margaret and Susan; and a great-grandson, J.J.

Mrs. Ragan was preceded in death by her husband, Frank G. Ragan in 1998. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 30th, at South Brevard Funeral Home.

CHARLOTTE GOODSON MELBOURNE Charlotte Mildred Goodson, 73, of Melbourne, died Tuesday, January 27, 2004. Mrs. Goodson was born February 2, 1930 in Baltimore, and moved to Melbourne in 1969 from her birthplace. Prior to retirement, she worked for Wal-Mart as a clerk in Melbourne. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Earl; a son, Russell Goodson of Melbourne; a daughter, Diana Harvey of Vero Beach; a brother, William Kraft; and a sister, Lorraine Barrick, both of Maryland; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 2nd, at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge. Arrangements by DavisSeawinds Funeral Home in Melbourne. JESSIE LYLES HALLANDALE Jesse Linus Lyles. 47, passed away Monday, January 26, 2004.

Following the service, there will be a receiption for the family and friends at the Holiday Inn Beachside Resort, 2605 N. Hwy. A1A in Melbourne Beach, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. BILL LOUDERMILK TITUSVILLE Bill E. Loudermilk, 74, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 28, 2004.

Bill was born in Gowen, on May 14, 1929. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 50 years, Betty; son, Rod (Kelly) Loudermilk; daughters, Diana Green and Lori (Kent) Kasselman; and sisters, Betty, Norma and Gloria of Oklahoma. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during the War and was retired from Honeywell. During his career he worked with Bendix Field Engineering supporting the Projects Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and Skylab Programs.

Bill moved with his family to Brevard County in 1971, where he retired. His kind and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew and cherished him. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31st, at North Brevard Funeral Home. North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville is in charge of arrangements.

FLEDA BUNCH MELBOURNE Fleda Andrea Bunch, 93, died Tuesday, January 27, 2004. Born in Albuquerque, N.M., on April 16, 1910, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Melbourne. Mrs. Bunch is survived by her daughters, Edith Schulenburg of Melbourne and Andrea Stockton of Oregon; grandsons, Jerry Taylor, Rick Taylor and Rudy Zamora, a granddaughter, Julie Saltes; five great-grandchildren; and five great-greatgrandchildren.
