FLORIDA TODAY, Monday, veteran of World war II in the 258 Battalion. He was a lifetime member of the BPOE (Elks) in Scottdale, Pa. and Loyal Order of the Moose in Sebastian. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, visiting family and friends and sports. Survivors include his wife, Shelby Hernley of Palm Bay; sons, Larry Hernley and Jacque Hernley both of Scottdale; daughter, Sherry Murray of Scottdale; stepdaughter, Judy McDonald of Burns, sisters, Larue Johnson and Anna Ross, both of 12 grandchildren; and nine greatgranchildren.

Baird, 82, a retired military and real estate broker, died Sunday, Dec. 26, at West Melbourne Health Care. Mr. Baird was born in West Branch, Mich. He to Brevard County in 1960 from Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City.

He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Navy. He retired from the Navy and Air Force after 23 years of service. He was owner of Baird Real Estate in Melbourne. Mr. Baird was a member of Air Force Sergeants Association.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Baird of Melbourne; son, James Baird of Palm Bay; daughters, Linda Delaune of Tampa and Betty Turner of and two a great -grandchildren. Waleska, five grandchildren; Calling hour will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, with services following, at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home in Palm Bay. He was 91. The Rev. Tate was born in Bainbridge, Ga. He came to Brevard County in 1945 from Quincy. He was a former pastor at Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God in Christ in Melbourne.

"The people of his congregation loved him," said his daughter-inlaw Grace Tate of Melbourne. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and singing. "He planted all sorts of vegetables," she said. EDWIN BRIDGETTE MELBOURNE Edwin R. Bridgette, 77, a retired owner and operator of an Exxon gas station in Belle, W.Va., died Sunday, Dec.

19, at Beverly Oaks Nursing Home. Mr. Bridgette was born in Kilsyth, W.Va. He came to Brevard County in 1979 from Belle. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served as an aviator flying DR.

Hernley, 74, a field superintendent, died Saturday, Dec. 25, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. Mr. Hernley was born in Bullskin Township, Pa. He came to Brevard County in 1992 from Burlington, Ky.

He started as a brick mason and worked his way up to field superintendent before retiring from General Signal after 23 years of employment.
