Baird, 82, a retired military and real estate broker, died Sunday, Dec. 26, at West Melbourne Health Care. Mr. Baird was born in West Branch, Mich. He to Brevard County in 1960 from Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City.

He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Navy. He retired from the Navy and Air Force after 23 years of service. He was owner of Baird Real Estate in Melbourne. Mr. Baird was a member of Air Force Sergeants Association.

He was 91. The Rev. Tate was born in Bainbridge, Ga. He came to Brevard County in 1945 from Quincy. He was a former pastor at Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God in Christ in Melbourne.

"The people of his congregation loved him," said his daughter-inlaw Grace Tate of Melbourne. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and singing. "He planted all sorts of vegetables," she said.
